TRAINING INVESTMENT

Train at your pace.
Pay as you go.

Flight training is a meaningful investment, but it shouldn't require a large upfront package. At Brain Based Flight Training, you pay as you train. Your overall cost depends on your experience, goals, aircraft selection, and the time it takes to reach proficiency.

01 / HOW PRICING WORKS

A straightforward approach to training costs.

Training costs are made up of instruction and aircraft rental. Flight instruction is currently $70 per hour. Aircraft rental varies depending on which airplane is used for your lesson.

Rather than asking students to purchase a large block of hours in advance, training is paid for as you go. That gives you the flexibility to progress at a pace that works for your schedule, experience, and learning needs.

Aircraft availability, rental rates, and the details of each training plan can be discussed directly with your instructor before you begin.

02 / PLANNING ESTIMATES

A starting point for your planning.

These approximate figures offer a general sense of the investment for several training paths. They are not fixed quotes or guaranteed totals; your instructor can help build an estimate around your specific goals.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE TRAINING

Approximately $750

A sample estimate based on two 1.5-hour flights in the Cherokee 6 at an aircraft rental rate of approximately $250 per hour.

Instruction is additional. Flight instruction is currently $70 per hour, billed separately from aircraft rental.

COMMERCIAL PILOT

Approximately $10,000

A general planning estimate for building flight time toward the 250-hour total-time requirement, alongside the training needed to master commercial maneuvers.

Maneuver proficiency may take approximately 5–6 lessons, depending on the student. Your total investment will depend on how much flight time you already have and what remains to be completed.

CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI)

Approximately $5,000

A general planning estimate for CFI training, with many students taking approximately eight flights to work through and master the required material.

The number of lessons and overall cost will vary with prior experience, preparation, and proficiency.

All figures are approximate planning estimates shared by the instructor, not guaranteed prices. The estimates may not include every applicable cost. Confirm the details of your individual training plan, aircraft rental, instruction, and any testing or examiner fees directly with your instructor.

03 / NO LARGE UPFRONT PACKAGE

Make progress one lesson at a time.

You don't need to commit to a large training package before you know how your path will unfold. Pay as you go, get a clearer picture of your progress along the way, and adjust your plan as your skills develop.

Some students arrive with substantial flight experience; others are starting from the beginning. Instruction is tailored to where you are and what you need to accomplish next.
